The Most Famous Woman in the World

(Available - Written by Kerthy Fix and Craig Harwood)

In 1953, Christine Jorgensen stepped off a plane in New York City and kick-started the sexual revolution. Based on a true story, "The Most Famous Woman in the World" recounts how a shy, insecure kid from the Bronx changed sex and changed the world.

After serving in the army during WWII, George Jorgensen moves to Denmark to pursue a career in photography. However, there is another goal -- and she embarks on an ambitious plan to take female hormones.

In a foreign country with a caring doctor, Christine is able to transition slowly, growing into her identity. But after her genital surgery, a journalist outs her in the newspapers and in 1953 she unwillingly becomes the first famous, transgendered woman in the world. The film follows her incredible tale, as she confronts discrimination, ridicule and ultimately demands acceptance.
